A while ago I drastically reduced podcasts. Almost 2 years later and I haven’t subscribed to a new podcast and still listen to about 5 podcasts in total.
The problem is that I do enjoy the podcasts and there are so many out there that I’d like to explore. A friend of mine was just laughing about a podcast discussing bad dates and how hilarious it was.
Every year I set a goal for reading a certain number of books. My commute or walks with the dog are a perfect time to accomplish that by listening to audiobooks. However, I think this has created a certain kind of pressure that I’m trying to live up to. Now, whenever I am not listening to an audiobook I feel like I’m being unproductive.
This extends to not just audiobooks, but music as well. Commute is a perfect time to discover new music, but again, unless i’m “learning”, I feel like the opportunity is wasted.
